This 5'1" 98lb lady came to see me for breast enhancement. As she is very thin, she was concerned with the potential for rippling and being able to feel the implant edges. To some degree any implant is not natural tissue and can cause some of these problems but it is minimized greatly by using a silicone implant. Whenever I have a very thin lady with very little starting breast tissue, in other words very little soft tissue coverage, I recommend silicone implants. Silicone implants are certainly harder to monitor for leaks over time and MRI is recommended 3 years after augmentation and then every 2 years. Still given the nicer result many women choose silicone over saline. This lady is shown before and after placement of 300cc high profile silicone implants. She is very pleased!
