This 24-year-old lady came from Pennsylvania to my New Jersey plastic surgery practice for breast implants. She did some internet research and found out that I focus my practice on breast implants and it is the procedure that I enjoy doing the most. While I certainly do other surgeries such as liposuction and abdominoplasty almost every week, and beautifully natural facelifts, eyelids and rhinoplasties, breast enhancement is what I have focused my practice on mostly for the past 10 years. Because of this my practice is not limited to Southern New Jersey but rather I see many patients from New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. Frankly a 2-3 hour drive is worth it to many people for my specialization. She is a competitive bodybuilder and we discussed submuscular versus subglandular breast augmentation in detail. Above the muscle looks more round, below the muscle looks more natural. Above the muscle will not impact strength while below the muscle can cause some change in competitive strength level. Sometimes above the muscle is absolutely the right choice for patients although most of my patients end up below the muscle or with dual plane augmentation. This patient decided to get silicone gel implants under the muscle. She had a very quick recovery and is very happy with her results.
