Breast Augmentation: Patient 83

Breast Augmentation: Patient 83
This is the perfect example of a lady that comes in with significant asymmetry of her breasts. If you look at her photos you will see that the ribcage on the right is sunken in compared to the left. In addition her right nipple sits lower than the left. Straight forward breast augmentation will do absolutely nothing to correct these asymmetries. When I see patients like this I explain to them their asymmetries and ask them if they want to address them. To address her areola being lower I would need to do a lift with an incision around her areola on the right. This leaves a scar (which fades with time) but is always present. It is the only way to address the asymmetry and if left alone the right nipple will be lower than the left after surgery. Does that ruin the result? I suppose it depends on each patient's goals. Here this patient is thrilled with having proportional breasts to her body and the areola being lower on one side bothers her zero. Some women would want this addressed. This is why photos like this are very helpful for education.
