So many ladies come to see me after having kids or losing weight complaining of sagging breasts. Often their complaints are loose breast skin that hands and loss of fullness and firmness. This patient was concerned with both of these issues. An implant (here moderate 385cc implant) will give the breasts more volume but will not do much to change the overall shape of the breast or nipple position. Thus, a breast lift is needed in order to reposition the nipple as well as remove excess tissue from the bottom of the stretched skin envelope. The photos below show before and after pictures at approximately 2 months after her surgery. Scars can be a significant concern for ladies considering a breast lift. Unfortunately they are real and once an incision is made the mark will never resolve completely. Some patients scar better than others and it takes at least a year for the redness to resolve. This is a long process to undergo. This patient received a vertical mastopexy with silicone implants in sub muscular positions and is delighted with her rejuvenation.
