Breast Lift And Augmentation: Patient 16
Almost nothing is more complicated than a lady who comes in with two very differently sized and shaped breasts. Across the nation, when combining lifts and implants there is a published revision rate of at least 20% due to the fact that tightening a breast with a lift and adding volume with an implant are two opposing forces that can vary during the healing process. This makes it very difficult for the surgeon to predict exact shape and sometimes a small touchup revision will be needed. When the breasts are very differently shaped this makes the situation more complicated and going into the surgery the patient must understand that there is a potential to require further surgery or touch-ups. This lady was significantly more droopy on the left and a lift and implant (350cc) was needed here. A straight forward augmentation with a larger implant (475cc) was performed on the right. She is shown a month after her surgery with an excellent early result. The implants will continue to settle and soften and the scars will continue to fade.
