Breast Augmentation: Patient 5

Breast Augmentation: Patient 5

Breast Augmentation: Patient 5

This is a 27 year old lady who came in for breast augmentation.  On exam you can see in her photographs that there is some asymmetry due to what is called pectus excavatum where the ribcage is set back on the right side and causes the breasts not to appear symmetric.  The right breast is a little smaller here.  These ribcage asymmetries are very common and while I can use two different sized implants or do some fat grafting to try to even this out they are never going to be exactly the same.  I like to show these asymmetries to patients prior to surgery so they can better understand their starting point anatomy and thus have realistic expectations about what can and perhaps more importantly, what cannot be achieved with breast implants.  Here this patient is shown before and after breast augmentation with two different sized breast implants.  I used a Motiva full profile round 335cc breast implant on the right and a motive full profile round 315cc implant on the left breast.  A muscle sparing subfascial technique was utilized through crease incisions.  She is shown here at around 6 weeks postoperatively and delighted with her results.
