Ear Gauges has become a very popular way for people to express themselves.  Larger and larger gauges are placed and the lobe becomes more and more stretched.  It is hard to say how many of these ears remain like this forever however we see a large number of people that come in to have it repaired.  Problem is it is very difficult to repair these ears as the skin has been strerched very thin and the tissue is quite fragile and distorted.  I counsel all patients that I will give them much improved earlobe however it will have a scar across it and it will certainly be a bit smaller.  This is a before and 6 weeks after view of one such repair.
