Breast Augmentation Revision: Patient 52
This 36 year old patient from New York came to me for a revision of a breast augmentation performed in Europe 3 years ago. She was never happy with her initial results. The implants felt too small, too projecting, and too narrow for her frame. She had Motiva 375 round full profile implants placed in a dual plane location and wanted implants that would better fit her frame and desired shape. We discussed options and decided to switch to a Demi profile breast implant as this would be wider and less projecting. We also decided to increase the size by 100cc to increase overall volume. Finally she chose the ergonomic rather than round breast implant as she wanted them to feel softer and move more naturally. I performed her breast augmentation revision by reconstructing the shape and position of her implant submuscular pocket via her crease incisions. I switched to the Motiva Demi profile implant. It is important for patients to understand the the ergonomic implant is not a teardrop shaped implant but rather it is a round breast implant with a softer gel that allows the gel to move more naturally and have a more natural upper pole slope. She came back to see me around 8 months after surgery for a result check and is delighted with the feel, appearance, shape and projection of these breast implants compared to her first set.
