Breast Augmentation Revision: Patient 50
This is a 34 year old patient who had her original breast augmentation just last year by another plastic surgeon in New Jersey closer to the Jersey shore. She was upset with the outcome for several reasons. She felt the implants were too small, too laterally placed and moved when she exercises. We discussed options for revision and the plan I suggested was to increase the size of the breast implant from 240cc to 475cc, to change the pocket location from dual plane under the muscle to a subfascial location, and to switch from Allergan Natrelle implants soft touch implants to a Motiva round breast implant. Each of these parts of the plan had a specific reason. Size was easy as she wanted to be larger, the tissue plane was recommended as when she flexes the implants would move and this bothered her as well as prevented her from having midline fullness and cleavage that was her goal, and for the type of implant I suggested Motiva as if I am going to go under the fascia the newer SmoothSylk implant shell technology decreases the risk of capsular contracture in this pocket location compared to traditional smooth shelled breast implants. She is shown here before and after 6 weeks from her surgery and has a beautiful, proportional result.
