Structured “Ideal Implant” Saline Breast Implant

Ideal Implant diagram for New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Sorokin in Cherry Hill

Another implant on the market means even more choices!

We have saline breast implants, silicone gel breast implants, gummy bear silicone breast implants, and the newest player on the block is the “structured” breast implant.

Created by a Dallas plastic surgeon who wanted to bring the best of all worlds to a new device, the Ideal Implant, as it is named, is FDA Approved as a structured breast implant.  What does this mean?

As you can see in the diagram, the Ideal Implant has a series of baffle shells, an inner lumen, and an outer lumen.  The implant is actually filled from two different ports and saline stays in two separated lumens.  Furthermore, the baffle shells slow down saline movement in order to create a less liquid movement and make the saline feel thicker like gel.

Does it work?  I have played with this implant and I’m here to say it is a noticeable improvement over standard saline breast implants.  It certainly feels much more like silicone, although certainly not as nice as a 5th generation cohesive gel gummy bear silicone breast implant.  I call it a vast improvement but not silicone.

So, for the lady who is afraid of silicone despite all of the safety data, this is a great option!  What is the downside?  Cost is higher than traditional saline breast implants and the Ideal Implant costs basically the same as a silicone implant does.
